Our House SOLD...!!!...Why...??? We do not qualify as experts in "how to sell your house". However, we are experts in knowing "what sold our house."
1. It started with Penny and Rebecca...who have reputations as experienced realtors. Over the many weeks we worked together we grew fond of them and trusted them.
2. It is vital to establish a viable working relationship with a qualified realtor. From the beginning we trusted Penny (who was our 'contact person').
3. It was possible to actually move out of the house...putting every item we owned into "take", "give", "sell" or "dump."
4. With Penny's leadership a plan was mutually developed to clean-up, clear-out and paint-up the inside of the house. We did not do major renovations nor did the outside of the house need attention. Penny introduced us to skilled and experienced men who were hired to prepare the house for sale.
5. An expert "staged" the house and it showed on the internet and was available to be shown at an "open house."
6. The character of the house was revealed: well located in a popular neighborhood; beautiful oak and fir floors revealed; delightful open spaces in a large house (4 bedrooms) with natural light flooding every room; near popular schools & the zoo and close to shopping areas, bus routes and convenient driving routes to downtown Seattle; ideal indoor and outdoor spaces for a family with children.
7. Open, honest and helpful info re the "limits" of the house...with bids revealing the possible costs of improving the house were provided by Penny with our full cooperation.
8. Our house was presented and we were represented by professional and experienced realtors who could deal with all the practical matters in selling our house.
9. In all of the phases of this experience we were kept informed about progress, decisions to be made and the process of putting our house on the market and selling it.
10. We had several discussions re what price to put on our house...and after the pros/cons of "pricing" we reached a mutual decision.
Penny indicated that we had a most unusual number of interested and possible buyers...And after only one Open House we had seven (7) bids...and sold our house for more than we had asked for...to buyers
who were pleased, happy and delighted to buy our house.It was a "win-win" experience.
